Burning CDs and DVDs with GNU/Linux      2003.11.02 @ 8:39:00 PM
After using XCDRoast for years, I finally decided to look around for new application. It did not take me long to find K3b (http://k3b.sourceforge.net).

This application not only looks very sleek but also comes with way more features than I was expecting. Such as:

Data cds
Audio cds
Video CDs (VCD 1.1, 2.0, SVCD)
Mixed-mode CDs
eMovix CDs
DVD burning (Support for DVD-R(W) and DVD+R(W), data DVD, eMovix DVDs, DVD-RWs and DVD+RWs formatting)
CD Ripping (with CDDB and CD-TEXT, no SCSI emulation for ATAPI drives)
DVD Ripping and DivX/XviD encoding
Save/load projects.
Blanking of CDR-Ws.
Retrieving Table of contents and cdr information.
Writing existing iso images to CD or DVD with optional verification of the written data.
Writing cue/bin files created for CDRWIN
CD Copy.
CD Cloning for perfect CD copies
DVD copy (no video transcoding yet)
