It can be installed with: apt-get install le
Two useful tricks (Thanks Alexander) in case you want to give it a try:
F10 or CtrlN = Menu
Shift+Mouse selection = Standard text selection (no interaction with le)

"le", a decent console-based text editor
2006.03.21 @ 4:55:55 PM
After years suffering with "vi", I finally found a console-based text editor suitable for human beings. It's called le and was written by Alexander V. Lukyanov. It has many useful features, including a pull-down menu, mouse-based text selecion and cursor positioning, etc.
It can be installed with: apt-get install le Two useful tricks (Thanks Alexander) in case you want to give it a try: F10 or CtrlN = Menu Shift+Mouse selection = Standard text selection (no interaction with le) A screenshot follows: ![]() |
